When it's erupting time
all of us will need
a little laugh track,
something to back scratch,
isn't this what was ordered?
All around everything
filled with compression.
Ready to pipe the steam
gotta turn a valve
and leak a little talk
with someone trusted,
with someone sharing blood.
To brood with the brood.
No wonder there's
a total syndrome
due to the silence
of an empty nest.
It's hard to name a thing
worse than being down
and newly all alone
with no room to enter which
doesn't contain just yourself.
So if the one's who've
shared the nest
can't be reached or have left
this is why and when
you've been good to friends
who fill holes in the nest
and don't mind allotting time
to aid in important tasks
that serve to grease the valve
that sweats to leak the steam
that's getting denser by the day.

It would be a mistake to only listen to this during the holidays. I think that this album is a wonderful Brown Bird album on its own and shouldn't be brushed aside just because it's a Christmas album. I don't even like Christmas music, but this is fantastic. Keej
